The theme for the 2011-12 MOPS year is
MOMSENSE (mom intuition +
common sense = MomSense.) At our MOPS group, you
will have a chance to socialize with other moms, hear some
great teaching, have discussion time, and participate in
creative activities.
We meet from 9:30 to 11:30 on the third
Wednesday of each month from September through May, with the
possible exception of December. The place is Life In
Christ Fellowship, 500 Plain City Georgesville Road (aka
State Route 142 NE), West Jefferson, Ohio. We are about 1.5
miles south of the SR 142 exit off I-70. During our monthly
meetings, we have an excellent program for your children,
infants through kindergarten age, called MOPPETS. The
children experience loving care in a preschool-like setting
that includes stories, crafts, music, and snacks.
Each morning begins with a light
breakfast and time to nurture friendships, followed by a
Mentor Mom Moment. Programs in the past have included guest
speakers and DVD segments followed by discussions on a
topic of interest to mothers of preschoolers, as well as a
craft. You can also expect special features such
as a swap day, hands-on pie making, leaning how to make
noodles, enjoying a manicure, preparing shoe box gifts for
Samaritan's Purse, and more.
If you are a mother of a child
beginning with pregnancy through kindergarten age, you are
invited to join this MOPS group.
